I’ve gotten 2 MeMeMe polishes now through swaps and I love them!
This one is called Amethyst but it is a lot more like a burgundy brownish wine color, and its very shimmery!
I’ll have to try some more of these!

I think this is the first time where I got a package with nail polish and sat down immediately to do a mani so I could wear it *right now*!
I have other magnetic polishes but the fact that its a China Glaze just made me so excited! And of course, I had to get You Move Me, to add to my other 20 something browns. 🙂
When I first saw it, I was like awww, its a light goldish brown with silver glittery wisps to it, and I only like dark browns… but after the magnet did its magic, the parts around the shape got really really dark brown, so its so perfect!!
I used the star magnet obviously, but look at how the magnet comes! 3 designs in one magnet.
While I was doing this, I accidentally used the stripes part of the U shape on accident and re-did that one, but the stripes were amaaaaazingly sharp! If you used a red with the stripes, you’d have perfect candy cane nails that easily.
I did each nail one at a time because the magnet really pulls on the right parts when the polish is still really wet. I noticed a thicker wet coat makes a sharper star too. When I put my top coat on, I kind of dragged a little too much on my middle nail there, but the lines it leaves that are the lighter color are so gorgeous to look at, almost like its 3D and changes at different angles. And it isn’t bronzey at all, its dark brown and light latte brown. Ahh, I love this stuff. I also got Instant Chemistry so I’ll swatch that soon too.
I definitely recommend these, you have to try at least one to see how pretty it looks in real life when you move it around in different lighting.
I love these oil slick nail polishes. This one is called Purple Heart.
It has a nice powdery dark plum color on the nail, but in the bottle, it really shifts from purple, to green, to a whole oil slick palette on the outsides. See?
I want to do another giveaway soon! I thought it was really fun to choose 2 winners and send them something they chose out of a list so I know that they’ll be loving what they get. I think I’ll get a few really good ones together and ask you what your favorites are… then pick 2 winners and do my best to send them most of the ones they listed. I have 299 followers, so a 300 followers giveaway will be a good reason to have one! 🙂
I just saw this post and oh holy crap, my trying not to buy more polish plan is going to go right down the toilet. I have to have Chanel April, and China Glaze Magnetix!!!!

Also, I’d just like to say that I officially like the Harmony Gelish hybrid gel system more than the CND Shellac! It just works so much better for me in terms of how long it lasts and how well it seals around the edges.
That is all!
A lot of people blogged about not really liking this one, but I love it! Its odd because its like a coffee brown metallic foily color with black hexagon glitter, but I think its just a really cool and unique polish that doesn’t strike me as ugly at all.
Look at this!
Anyone around that likes this one like I do? 🙂
And oh my god, we gave our deposit to a wedding venue, so its really coming together! I think our wedding date is going to be Cinco De Mayo! 😀
This took forever, but I love how it ended up! I wish it was sunnier so I could get a better picture, but here it is for now…
This is a layer of OPI – Black Onyx, a layer of Nicole by OPI – Nicole’s Nickel, a stripe of Black Onyx on the top corner with OPI – Sanguine on top of that black stripe, then the bow stamped with Konad white!
I also put the Shellac base coat first, then at the end I did the Shellac top coat and cured it 2x so that this will last… hopefully at least a week and a half or 2? 🙂
I love that Konad bow plate, I need to use it more often. It is m7.
(I’m adding a black with silver glitter nail art striping polish to the Halloween Giveaway, I thought it would be a good one to go with those!)
This one is so gorgeous. In the bottle, it has the oil spill effect where it has halos of different colors like red, brown, orange, purple, red.
It comes out purplish reddish brown on the nail, and in the sun it is so dazzling!
A lot of people say that these are close to being dupes. Sometimes I’d see swatches of them together and they did look similar so I was confused and had to do it myself! Plus, I wanted to show the awesome missgreencurry, who sent me Space Cadet. 🙂
I know they have a similar eggplant to olive type of effect, but to me they always looked pretty different. My swatch really showed how different they are.
Space Cadet on index and ring fingers, Venemous on middle and pinky:
They look awesome in the bottles!
I guess if you love duochrome that has a purple to green shift, then these are both similar and both awesome, so I can see the comparison, but some swatches like this one from stephscloset make them look like almost exact dupes, that’s where I got confused. Maybe at a certain angle they do look alike!
If you want to see some awesome close-ups of Space Cadet, I love this post on lacquerized.com! (Her blog is sooo amazing by the way if you haven’t seen it, I always thought her pictures and swatches were the best quality by far!)
I hear this is a dupe for MAC’s Bad Fairy, but I haven’t tried that one myself.
This is a neat duochrome polish with warm colors that shift from red to copper. Its a thin foily texture!
I gave everyone an extra day or so for The US Essence @holographics giveaway and I’ll pick the winner tonight!
My fiance drove me up to Whole Foods so I could jump out and buy my yogurt and coffee cream that only they have. I was like “I’ll be fast, just drop me off and circle around and I’ll be right out…”
Of course the nail polish racks caught my eye as I ran past the beauty section! What is my problem? haha!
Anyway, so this is what I grabbed! It was about 7 or 8 dollars, and this brand is very proud of how healthy their formula is. It sure is really awesome and lustrous! It changes between purple and rose, and some shots of the bottle even show another few colors if you look around the edges.
This shows the name of the brand, in case you want to look them up!
Here are the ingredients that they proudly display!
In complete shade, it does look more eggplant-colored, but it doesn’t take much light to really show off the different colors it has!
I’d say its a winner, wouldn’t you? 🙂 They had a lot of other colors too!
I was doing a lot of Zoya swatching today! I wanted to compare all of these dark jewel-toned shimmers.
All of them are so pretty and they come alive in the light because of how rich the pigment is. All of these are only 2 coats too!
Blair and Kalista are my favorites. Before doing this comparison, I loved Rihana but now I think the others are better on my skin tone because they are a little warmer.
It looks like their tones from left to right are red, brown, purple, and magenta! The bottle is Blair, by the way.
Zoya really knows how to make some awesome polishes!
I have to say again that I’m so glad I finally gave BB Couture a chance, because I used to think I didn’t like their polishes but I am always SO impressed when I put them on!
This one is a dark gray color with blue shimmer.. but not like the regular navy blue I usually see in dark blue shimmers, its really more like a lighter powder blue shimmer that comes out looking SO awesome in the dark base!
I don’t even like blue polishes really unless they are super light blue, but I’m SO in love with this one!
Look at the shimmer in that bottle. 🙂
In the shade it is still really nice and shimmery, but I do like the way it looks better in the sun.
I have a few more of their polishes that are coming up! They claim to be base coat, top coat, and strengthener all in one. I never usually put just polish on with no base or top coats, so I haven’t tried it alone, have you?
This was the last one from my Diamond Cosmetics haul. I have so many polishes left to swatch now, its ridiculous. I have this Nordstrom bag here with some wedding planning stuff and I started putting the polishes I would pick up or order in that bag, waiting for the next time I was swatching for my blog. Now the bag is like half full of wedding planning stuff and half full of nail polish. haha!
Anyway, here is Joust for Kicks! It looks too bronzey for me in the bottle, but once it is on the nail, it is SUCH a gorgeous brown!
Direct sun doesn’t bring out the bronze either, it just brings out the chocolate brown. I’m loving this one.
I hope they come out with some new colors soon. They are seriously so affordable for such an awesome B3F formula, it makes me want more!
This one is a rare HTF China Glaze, but you can usually find someone who has it on ebay. That’s what I did. Actually, I didn’t go looking for it, I was looking for something else. I’m so bad though and I always go looking at what else the same person is selling since I’ll probably combine shipping anyway.
So I saw this one! This is what the bottle looks like:
I couldn’t really pass that up. It was shimmery, and it was very half blue and half pink or kind of mixed… all I knew was I had nothing like it so I wanted to check it out!
Here it is by itself on the index and middle fingers, over white on the ring finger, and over black on the pinky:
Its almost kind of ugly by itself, but over white it is a really pretty blue… and over black, all you can see is the pink! How awesome is that?
I actually thought it looked really unique over black… it isn’t that dark if you do another coat, and it looks like a metallic vintage rose color!
This is a color I don’t have yet! Not even close! Pewter has a metallic silver look with an olive green tone to it. It isn’t that light actually, it can appear light in the shade, but in the light, the contrast really changes and it pops!
Sun!
I’m keeping this one for sure, it is the one metallic color I definitely had nothing close to. And it goes on really nicely in 2 coats, which is always ideal for me.
At least for right now, my favorite duochromes are Nailtini Amaretto Fizz and Borghese Stellare Notte!
It was REALLY hard to photograph Stellare Notte. If you hold the bottle, you see a purple halo around the outside of the bottle and straight on is a gorgeous blue/green color. It looks just like those pretty oil spills in the parking lot. haha!
From far away I just thought it was black, but it is so stunning, you’d just have to see it in person!

Here is Nailtini Amaretto Fizz! It looks purple/burgundy straight on but in the sun, it is a gorgeous rich brown!

I love the 5 Zing gum, so I was excited when I matched it so closely…
Its Zoya Tess over Zoya Cheryl!
In direct sun it seems darker…
I’ve always loved layering colors that seem to light to me over a black or a dark brown. You never know what you’ll get!
