Sephora by OPI – Beauty Junkie

When I went to Sephora last week, I was admiring their new aisle they have that is just dedicated to nail polish! With the new fake-nail swatch of each color, I was able to see the polishes in a different way. They even have that for all of the other brands they carry now.

The one that caught my eye was Beauty Junkie! I picked it up and wondered how I had never noticed it before. So I bought it. 🙂

It is really cool because in different lights, it can look brown, burgundy, or really dark mauve! I swear sometimes in the sun, it has looked like a plum even. Its a nice and rich creme, so even though it is really dark, it can’t be mistaken for black… I love it!

New Bundle Monster! Butter London – Toff with Flormar – 389

I was so excited to get my new Bundle Monster plates from Amazon! I went to a wedding over the weekend and wanted to try out one of the new designs.

The two plates I tested really worked well! The designs were really etched in deep and they were large enough to even cover my thumb with a lot left over!

I reallllly wish their new plates came with a coffee cup design. I thought they said they would with the next set but maybe I’ll have to keep waiting. If you want to see the designs that they did use, check this out:

China Glaze – Foie Gras

I still can’t get enough of these creme polishes that are this rich color that looks taupe sometimes, plummy at other times, kind of greyish…

They always surprise me! I have to compare this to Below Deck, of course. It has a similar mix of shades but this one is more brown.

I also have to rave about the formula. It is so opaque that two coats is perfect and it didn’t dry too fast and become gloppy like some other brands I have polishes like this in. It will dry a tiny bit darker than the color you see in the bottle.

Speaking of that though, if you notice a little bit of bubbliness to this swatch, it isn’t the polish’s fault this time, I just overdid it on the Mavala Barrier Base + Sally Hansen Nail Quencher layers beneath it since my nails had gotten dry.

With the next post, its giveaway time again! 🙂

MAC – Violet Femme

I finally got to wear this one I’ve been looking at for months now.

It is totally my kind of purple, the dark plum eggplant shade I love! It also has this hidden shimmer of a warm color that reminds me of a Chai Latte.

I got a giveaway together, I’ll post it soon! 🙂

Now I have Blister In The Sun stuck in my head.

GOSH – Purple Heart

I love these oil slick nail polishes. This one is called Purple Heart.

purpleheart

It has a nice powdery dark plum color on the nail, but in the bottle, it really shifts from purple, to green, to a whole oil slick palette on the outsides. See?

I want to do another giveaway soon! I thought it was really fun to choose 2 winners and send them something they chose out of a list so I know that they’ll be loving what they get. I think I’ll get a few really good ones together and ask you what your favorites are… then pick 2 winners and do my best to send them most of the ones they listed. I have 299 followers, so a 300 followers giveaway will be a good reason to have one! 🙂

I just saw this post and oh holy crap, my trying not to buy more polish plan is going to go right down the toilet. I have to have Chanel April, and China Glaze Magnetix!!!!

Also, I’d just like to say that I officially like the Harmony Gelish hybrid gel system more than the CND Shellac! It just works so much better for me in terms of how long it lasts and how well it seals around the edges.

That is all!

Ciate – Guest List

I can’t tell you how much I LOVE these cute little bottles! This color is really interesting… its like a brown that kind of looks black from far away but with light on it, you see some plum or some burgundy that makes it look like a raspberry chocolate bar!

I’ve been spending a lot of time being crafty and making a lot of DIY wedding stuff! May 26th will be my big day and I have lots of time to make my own personalized invitations and save the date stuff… I love collages with pictures and pieces of magazine ads, so I’m doing that. It sounds odd but I’ll post pictures when I get enough done!

I’m SO lucky and found the perfect florist today. I know nothing about flowers really so I was intimidated but when I started talking to her and telling her I wanted a vintage/Victorian type of theme, she knew exactly what to point me to for my style and tight budget… and she lives right by the church we are getting married at!

This is the type of “theme” I’m going for!

I know this isn’t a wedding blog, but most of us are girly in here so I thought I’d share my inspiration for what I’m coming up with! 🙂

Savina Merlot, OPI Catherine the Grape, China Glaze Gamer Glam, and Milani Hi-Res

When I got OPI – Catherine the Grape, I loved the color, even though I don’t usually like purples… so I went and got the other 2 purples I had gotten recently and left the Savina – Merlot on one nail from last time so I could do a comparison.

I don’t have Gamer Glam anymore, but I kept the other 3!

I have so much to type but my wrist is still a little screwy… it looks really bad actually! I wanted to try the Shellac formula so I got myself a little UV lamp and the base, top and color coats. I put it on this weekend since it is supposed to last for weeks and I’m having such a hard time painting my right hand right now since my left one doesn’t want to work right just yet!

I’ll post about that soon with a video… and I’m going to do a tuffscent.com giveaway of a bottle or two!

BB Couture – Eternity

I love dark plummy brown shimmers like this! How did I miss out on these BB Coutures for so long?

Look how pretty this one is!

I just made a video of my whole polish collection for you guys in case you’re curious what I keep and swap away… I’ll upload it tonight and post it!

Zoya – Blair, Kalista, Mikka & Rihana

I was doing a lot of Zoya swatching today! I wanted to compare all of these dark jewel-toned shimmers.

All of them are so pretty and they come alive in the light because of how rich the pigment is. All of these are only 2 coats too!

Blair and Kalista are my favorites. Before doing this comparison, I loved Rihana but now I think the others are better on my skin tone because they are a little warmer.

It looks like their tones from left to right are red, brown, purple, and magenta! The bottle is Blair, by the way.

Zoya really knows how to make some awesome polishes!

Dior – Lemon Balm

Another lemming bites the dust! (And did NOT disappoint!)

I’m loving this one! It is basically a brown with a tiny hint of plum or mauve at certain angles. It is SO much more dynamic than Aztec Chocolate.

The application was smooth and lovely, and it has a rich shimmer that kind of looks different at different angles. I tried to capture that, but I’m not sure if you can see what I mean…

This one is definitely a keeper!
