I’m having one hell of a time with life lately and I’m already on my way to D.C. again in the morning… whew.
But I shall take a minute to post! Nail polish swatching must go on! 🙂
Here is Zoya Lotus! I loved it more than Tru, I’m just so bummed that I can’t get that gorgeous bottle shimmer to appear on my nails without getting the light and the angle exactly perfectly. Such a tease, huh?
I was going to do the new OPI and Zoya purple comparison but I already packed my memory card and camera in my suitcase… I’m off to Colorado Springs today for a 2 day meeting about the next version of my software.
It was snowing there yesterday! I had to go and buy a long wool coat and gloves to go with my scarf and beanie. haha! I’ve been in California since I was 4, so I’m a huge wimp about the cold. Wish me luck. 🙂
Anyway, here is NARS – Saratoga! I found it too light and bright for me since I like darker, richer colors, so I swapped it to Gemma almost immediately. It is like a raspberry tone.
It is really pretty though, and the light really catches all of the warm glints inside!
I’ll be back Saturday. Time to grab my luggage and Xanax for the flight. Eeek.
(Oh, and Wooden Shoe Like to Know didn’t really match my new dark gray jacket and the clothes I’m taking, so I went with Teasey Does It!)
These can be hard to tell apart because I found there is only one flash angle where they differ.
They look the same to me at most angles. Here is 506 on index and ring, 505 on middle and pinky (over black, of course!):

But this is the reason why 505 is my favorite! I prefer the greenish blue flash in the 505 over the midnight blue flash in the 506.
I’m holding the 505 in this picture so you can really see that gorgeous teal-ish flash toward the top of the bottle and on my middle nail:
So it just depends on what shade of blue you prefer if you can’t decide between the two of these. 🙂
I’m uploading my You Rock collection of swatches!
This was the one that I told Jill she could skip and I’m so glad she didn’t listen! I rarely can wear pinks that aren’t super light or super dark because of my skin tone, but this one was just the right warm shade of magenta!
I love all of them in this collection, I’ll post the rest soon!
First of all, here is QT, from the OMG collection! This is the only OMG polish I own, I love the color!
And look at their Halloween set that’ll be released in a few weeks!
I can’t wait for Crimson and the Ghoulish Glow, but I want the whole set… makes me think I’ll skip the OPI set with the green glow and black shatter since I like the white glow and black crackle better anyway.
I had to try the Golden Rose Holographics, so I compared 3 of them here to a Tronica polish, Hyper Haute. Golden Rose polishes have a stronger holo effect than the Tronica set (but not the OMG set), and they come in a lot of colors. AND they are so cheap and easy to buy online.

Its my birthday! Its too bad when you have to work on your birthday but I’m going to San Diego for the weekend.
I’m not as excited as I usually am because now I’m 32, and I seriously feel like that number is too high to express my age, so I might not get as excited about my own birthdays from now on? ha!
Anyway, this is what I’m wearing right now! From one of their newest collections, Your Hut or Mine.
This didn’t look good on me until 3 coats, I guess because with my skin tone, I usually can’t pull off magentas, but this is a little bit of a warmer magenta and once it was really opaque it looked so much better!!
Its got a nice shimmer, see how there’s that glow where the light hit the bottle? 🙂
My Dad and step-Mom are coming home from France right now, so I get to see them tonight and I bet they got me something cool and coffee-related. 🙂

This swatch is Lolly and Mitzi from the Mod Mattes that Zoya released for summer. Phoebe was the other one, which I already swatched.
I don’t know, I just can’t let these two grow on me. They are just kind of an ugly shade of magenta and green, or at least on my skin tone! I did love Phoebe and I’m keeping that one, but I just can’t seem to like these!
I did used to love some ugly 70s colors like burnt orange and avocado green (like grandma’s kitchen wallpaper!) but this green is like… well, I have parakeets and I’m always cleaning up their poop, and its that kind of green. haha!!

Were you wondering what I bought at Inglot? I got 5 polishes, this awesome shimmery eye shadow that is pink and brown, and 3 round pans for my 10 round pallet.
Let’s get to the 4 dark polishes I got! (The other was a light pink matte that I’ll swatch later, it wasn’t that exciting.)
These are SO amazing. 343 and 346 are really… dazzling! 343 is a wine color and 346 is my perfect favorite brown color that isn’t so dark that it could be mistaken for black and isn’t bronzey!
635 and 636 are their new “breathable” line of polishes. They are a creme base with a hidden shimmer. 635 is taupe with purple shimmer and 636 is a purple magenta with raspberry pink shimmer.
I took another shot that focused more on 635 and 636 so you can hopefully see the hidden shimmer come out a little more. It isn’t as apparent as it is in the bottle (the bottle I’m holding is 635 by the way!!) but you can still see it!
What do you think!? 635 can sound like a Paradoxal dupe but it really isn’t… it is much more strictly taupe, the only thing that is purple is the shimmer inside!
I love them all and can’t give any of them up! 🙂
Here is Rihana by itself! I was trying to decide if I could really give that one up so I had to swatch it properly! 🙂
I was doing a lot of Zoya swatching today! I wanted to compare all of these dark jewel-toned shimmers.
All of them are so pretty and they come alive in the light because of how rich the pigment is. All of these are only 2 coats too!
Blair and Kalista are my favorites. Before doing this comparison, I loved Rihana but now I think the others are better on my skin tone because they are a little warmer.
It looks like their tones from left to right are red, brown, purple, and magenta! The bottle is Blair, by the way.
Zoya really knows how to make some awesome polishes!
